Alright so, not a broadcast. You caught us. Not in the way that you've come to expect from us. This is a letter. A missive. A thank-you.
If you're reading this, chances are that you've listened to the work that House of Rebels has been producing over the last almost-two-years. If you haven't, I invite you to take a look at our archives of work. Since 2014, House of Rebels has been producing free, accessible pod-plays. We have been writing, producing, performing, all for the love of creation. We've had the opportunity to collaborate with exciting emerging artists and engage with our community in an experimental way that most theatre-goers don't experience.
With that said...
This coming year, House of Rebels is going to do so much more. Drawn for a spot in the 2016 Toronto Fringe Festival, House of Rebels will be producing a staged play. Live theatre. The dream that we entered theatre school with, that we circumvented out of a desire to see our work produced no matter what (mediums be damned), eventually circling back around to this incredible opportunity. We are incredibly grateful for the chance provided to us, and we are striving to make the greatest show possible in Canada's biggest Fringe Festival.
There will be more to come in the future, as it seems there always will be. Specifically from us though, you'll be seeing news about our work. And of course, more pod-plays by more talented writers than you can shake a stick at. It would be difficult to do so anyways, as it's all in the digital realm. I'm are you can figure it out though. It seems you always have done.
